A peek into the ADAPT Collection shoot at CFXI

We’ve always prided ourselves to be More Than Just a Gym and we’re delighted MP Apparel thought the same of us too.

The new ADAPT collection from MP Apparel is now live, specifically designed to endure and support tough training sessions. The shoot was in collaboration with and shot at CFXI so we’re excited to give you a peek behind the scenes! Plenty of photos, but first, a quick 2 minute interview with Liz, Producer at MP Apparel.

Can you tell us a little about MP.com, yourself and the crew?

'MP.com is a clothing focused brand branching from MyProtein. Our crew always strive to create the most exciting and creative content to showcase their amazing outfits that range from 'rest day' lounge wear to latest technology in fitness clothing material and designs. They’re amazing at what they do!

There will be a lot of readers, especially our members who are really interested in media production, we tend to just see the awesome videos, photos and campaigns but there are obviously a lot that goes on behind the scenes. What things can you share that many won't know about with regards to shoots and production?

Shoot Production is a massive team effort from brand, design, video, photography, production, hair and makeup, retouch, editors and much more! Campaigns are months in the making to ensure we are fully on the pulse of our target audience and always want our final assets to be eye catching, engaging and true to MP.com. Its never easy, but always exciting!

What tends to go wrong / common problems in shoots - if any?

I’ve worked in production for a number of years and there is a never a time you are not problem solving. Be that budget restraints such as not being able to find the perfect of a location, so contacting a set build team to build you the bespoke set dreamt up by a designer to finding the most amazing looking model for a sports campaign, but they may not be able to perform the sport we need! Creating large scale campaigns are all about finding the most suitable solution and looking at the problem from every angle.

What really gets you hyped up / mini fist pump moment in shoots?

When a shoot comes together there is no better feeling! Be that casting masses of models for a beauty campaign or trying to get a world famous ambassador on board to take part in a gruelling day of CrossFit training, doing the same movement again and again and again. No 2 days are the same and having that many variables all fall into place is amazing!

More specific to this shoot, can you share a little about this ADAPT shoot for our readers?

The first launch of our Adapt Collection is a specific CrossFit/ functional training range designed to be Fit For Purpose.

Our Adapt Collection is designed for tough training, so expect functional fabrics and features, with added durability.

The high performing fabrics will keep you comfortable, drier and cooler to see you through your sessions.

The new range is our most technical performance product for CrossFit / Functional training designed for both Men and Women.

What made you (and the crew) choose CrossFit XI / what made CrossFit XI a suitable location?

We have shot in so many CrossFit gyms over the years but we knew as soon as we saw CrossFit XI and spoke to yourselves, it was the perfect place to shoot our Adapt CrossFit range. Its high ceilings, varied equipment, dynamic branding, large space, natural yet interesting look was the perfect backdrop for Zack George and Kirsty Hendy to get to work in the new range.

When should we expect the new range to hit our screens and into our wardrobes?

Hearing Liz talk about how CFXI was perfect for the shoot and the successful drop of the Adapt line reinforces our constant drive to be more than just a gym.

We don’t want to just have a roof, some equipment and throw on some classes.

Instead, we want to really add value to our members and clients. We want them to feel and be part of something reputable, something with heart and presence, something they’re proud to represent.

For us here in Manchester, it’s almost a full year now since the mandated closure of gyms due to the pandemic. The hospitality and leisure industry have been heavily and traumatically impacted.

Rather than sit in our self pity, we stood firm and asked ourselves, “what can we do to get through this together? What can we do to add more value?” After all, this is was opportune moment - where being a gym was the most testing - to be more than just a gym.

As filming and productions could continue under the current restrictions, we were able to assist with delivering this Adapt shoot. It was a delight to work with MP.com, the crew, Kirsty and Zack. Their passion and professionalism aligns perfectly with our values and what we strive for CFXI to be too.
